1.- The mountaineer failed to reach the summit because he ran out of oxygen.

El montañero no logró alcanzar la cima porque se quedó sin oxígeno.

 

2.- The detective failed to find sufficient evidence in order to accuse the offender.

El detective no consiguió encontrar suficientes pruebas para acusar al delincuente.

 

3.- The politician failed to convince the attendants at the meeting with his arguments and did not win the election.

El político no logró convencer a los asistentes a la reunion con sus argumentos y no ganó la elección.

 

4.- The student failed his exams because he hadn’t studied enough.
