“Baker Street” is a ballad written and first recorded by Scottish singer-songwriter Gerry Rafferty. Released as a single in 1978, it reached No. 1 in Canada, No. 2 in the United States, No. 3 in the United Kingdom, No. 1 in Australia and No. 9 in the Netherlands.
The arrangement is famous for its saxophone riff, played by Raphael Ravenscroft and guitar solo, played by Hugh Burns.

I clearly remember when I first heard this song.
The words are just so powerful that it’s so difficult not to ponder about its meaning.
The tune is so catchy, it could linger in your brain for a long time.
…. and the SAX is so psyche-piercing that it defined a music trend.
I used to not like listening to sax solo until I heard this song, which became a milestone of my appreciation of the power and beauty of sax.
