1. John y su amigo llevan bebiendo wisky desde las dos de la tarde.

 John and his friend have been drinking whiskey  since   two o’clock.

2. Ella lleva viviendo en Nueva York un mes.

She has been living in New York  for   a month.

3. Está lloviendo desde anoche.

It has been raining  since   last night.

4. Esperan que hagamos ese trabajo difícil desde que nos conocen.

They have been expecting us to do that hard work  since   they knew us.

5. Mina lleva estudiando la lección de química durante más de una hora.

Mina has been studying her chemistry lesson  for  more than one hour.

6. Llevo tres años tocando el piano.

I have been playing the piano  for   three years.

7. Estuvimos esperándole mucho rato, pero no vino/apareció.

I had been waiting for him  for   a long time, but he didn’t come/ turn up/show up.

8. Llevan tres años construyendo esa casa

They have been building that house  for   three years.

9. Está llorando desde que se fue su novio.

She has been crying  since   her boyfriend left.

10. Llevamos varios años luchando por la libertad.

We have been fighting for freedom  for   several years.
